Our mission is to conduct research into and develop new, improved and safer treatments for leukaemia and related conditions.
Leukaemia Busters is a UK-based registered charity whose objective it is to develop new antibody-based magic bullet type treatments for children and adults with currently incurable forms of leukaemia.
This is achieved firstly through a high quality research and development programme to produce and evaluate new antibody-based drugs and secondly through clinical trials in patients to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of such newly emerging drugs.
Research and development activities are conducted in our own Clinical Trial Support Unit (CTSU) laboratories in Southampton and in The Simon Flavell Leukaemia Research Unit that resides in the University of Southampton School of Medicine. In addition we also undertake related work with colleagues in other laboratories in the UK and abroad in pursuit of the common objective of curing patients with currently incurable forms of leukaemia.
